A few years ago, I, Luke Barclay, embarked on an unlikely mission. Following some kind of epiphany moment in my bathroom, I set out to find the world’s best views from toilets - and write a book about them.
I visited many of the toilets myself. I climbed mountains, I hiked into canyons, I had altercations with toilet attendants. I went to some amazing places and met some fascinating people. Yes, it was about toilets, but it was also about the people, the places and the stories.
After A Loo With a View was published (Virgin Books), to my delight, people started getting in touch with their own toilet suggestions and photographs. A global movement dedicated to views from toilets was stirring and I wrote a second book on the subject called Good Loo Hunting (also Virgin Books).
I set up this website to share some of my favourite toilets from the books and write about new discoveries, which continue to come in. And, who knows, I might even start introducing content that is not, repeat NOT, about views from toilets. Radical I know…
